America’s doors have been left wide open for far too long, and it’s about time someone slammed them shut. That’s exactly what Marco Rubio just did by imposing up to $15,000 visa bonds on travelers from a dozen countries who don’t respect America’s borders. Maybe these nations—Cambodia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Grenada, Lesotho, Mauritius, Mongolia, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Papua New Guinea, Seychelles, and Tunisia—never thought they’d get called out for the way their citizens abuse our visa system. Well, they just got a wake-up call.
For years, people from these countries have been getting temporary visas, then simply disappearing into America, defying the rules and spitting in the face of our laws. Liberals in Washington love to pretend this problem doesn’t exist. They wring their hands over “inclusion” and “global cooperation,” while our own country gets taken advantage of time and again. The globalist crowd wants every border erased, every standard lowered, and anyone who dares oppose them painted as a villain.

This visa bond—the $15,000 price tag—sends a blunt, loud message: break the rules, pay the price. If visitors play by the rules, they get their money back. But if they overstay or disappear, they lose it. That’s common sense, but it’s the kind that drives the left completely crazy. They want to protect feelings, not enforce laws. Their virtue-signaling always ends with the American taxpayer footing the bill.
The truth is, American generosity has limits. We welcome those who come legally and work hard. But this new bond cracks down on freeloaders and lawbreakers. It’s about time someone stood up for American workers, taxpayers, and families. Rubio took action where others dithered. Instead of bending over backward for countries that disrespect us, he’s holding them accountable.
Maybe the critics should try valuing American citizens for once. Maybe the message should be clear: This isn’t the world’s doormat. We are a sovereign nation. Don’t like the rules? Don’t bother packing your bags. It’s pretty simple—obey the law, or pay the price. Why can’t the left grasp that?
