On Tuesday, Ken Paxton, the attorney general of Texas, sued the Department of Health & Human Services, claiming that it had issued an unlawful directive requiring pharmacies to provide abortion pills.<\/p>\n

The lawsuit was filed as a result of a case involving the FDA's approval of a drug used in chemical abortions. In this case, the plaintiffs claim that the agency does not have the authority to approve the use of mifepristone.<\/p>\n
