In April 2015, yet another toddler was able to sneak onto the property. It’s clear that such episodes show how safety measures need to be upgraded and improved.<\/p>\n
To ensure that future breaches do not occur, the National Park Service and Secret Service worked together to double the size of the perimeter fence surrounding the White House in 2019. The new fence, which stands at 13 feet tall with 5 1\/2 inches of space between each picket, has helped to prevent such intrusions, though older children and protesters have gotten stuck between the pickets from time to time.<\/p>\n
