The FBI has declined to share the body camera recordings of agents from the raid that led to the death of Craig Robertson, a 75-year-old disabled supporter of Trump. Robertson is said to have posted threats against President Biden on Facebook. Gregg Re from Daily Wire raised pertinent questions about the FBI's choice to hold back the video, commenting on the agency's reluctance to release the mandatory DOJ body camera footage from the incident involving Robertson. According to Re, the FBI cites potential disruption to "enforcement proceedings" as the reason for this.

Additionally, Re unveiled a reply to a FOIA request for the video's release. The reply revealed that the footage is part of an exempted investigative file. The release, it was argued, might compromise ongoing police activities, leading to the request being officially closed.

In August 2023, Robertson faced a tragic end during an FBI operation at his residence. The operation aimed to apprehend him based on menacing Facebook comments he made against President Biden and other officials. Given Robertson’s advanced age and physical state, questions have emerged about the raid's approach. Travis Lee Clark, a part-time professor at Utah Valley University and acquaintance of Robertson, mentioned Robertson's limited mobility.
While the FBI alleges that Robertson aimed a firearm at them during the arrest attempt, they haven't showcased any corroborative evidence like video footage or photographs. The absence of such evidence raises questions about transparency and accountability in law enforcement.
It's imperative for the FBI to make the body camera recordings public to clarify the events leading to Robertson’s demise. Openness is a cornerstone in fostering trust between the police and citizens. The public has the right to understand the events, especially when they involve lethal force.
