Liberal cable news host Al Sharpton has lashed out at Republican Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, calling him a “baby in a crib with a rattle” and making immature analogies on the “Morning Joe” program. The MSNBC host’s comments reflect the left’s juvenile fixation on attacking their political rivals instead of discussing policy and ideas in a mature manner.

Governor DeSantis is a potential Republican presidential candidate with a strong track record of tackling the “woke” ideology that is tearing America apart. DeSantis gave a speech last Saturday at the Feenstra Family Picnic in Sioux City, Iowa, where he spoke about his victories in the “war on woke.”
However, Sharpton, like other radical leftists, seems to think it is better to mock people instead of having a real conversation about the issues. These sad attacks are nothing but a display of sour grapes, highlighting how Democrats have been outmatched for too long by Republicans like DeSantis.
Governor DeSantis’s record as a Conservative speaks for itself; he is a strong advocate of parental rights and has taken steps to prevent the sexualization of children in Florida schools. DeSantis has signed a law protecting parents’ rights and another that prohibits materials considered explicit from being distributed in public schools. These are issues that all Americans can get behind.
The fact that Democrats like Sharpton are resorting to petty insults rather than a real discussion indicates there are no valid arguments to be had on their side. And it shows that the Republican’s chances of winning another term in office are looking good, particularly when you consider that DeSantis is already making waves in the critical swing state of Iowa.
Bottom line, the insults being hurled by Sharpton towards DeSantis and conservatives are a reflection of the left’s desperation. Instead of attacking their opponents with character assassination, the left should focus on their message and policies if they want to have any chance of winning over voters.
