Alyssa Milano, the starlet of the ’90s and now a professional anti-Trump activist, has taken a dramatic exit from social media following President-elect Trump’s overwhelming victory over Vice President Kamala Harris. Milano, who has been a relentless critic of Trump since his rise to power, seemingly couldn’t handle the heat of contrasting opinions on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Ironically, one has to wonder if her decision came from an inability to cope with a news cycle that doesn’t cater to her liberal whims.
Milano has long been an ardent supporter of various leftist narratives, including the infamous Russian collusion conspiracy, which was debunked quicker than one could say “impeachment.” She has also fueled the absurd accusation that Trump called veterans “suckers and losers” and participated in a smear campaign against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Her history of sharing dubious claims on social media is a testament to the fever pitch of anti-Trump sentiment that has engulfed Hollywood.

The actress’s reaction to Twitter’s ownership change has also been noteworthy. With Elon Musk at the helm, the platform has seen a dramatic reduction in censorship, with bans lifted off thousands of accounts. This development, much to the chagrin of Milano and her fellow leftists, likely contributed to her eventual retreat. After all, it’s tough to argue against a narrative when your echo chamber has been dismantled. Milano once declared her disdain for her Tesla, citing “hate and white supremacy” as the crux of her decision. Little did she know that her policies were already steering her down the road to irrelevance.
As of the latest updates, Milano’s account appears inactive, effectively making her one more casualty in the mass exodus of leftists from X. It seems that as Trump secures a firm foothold, the tightly wound liberal elite is packing their bags and fleeing the platform. Another notable example is actress Bette Midler, who also cut ties with X after declaring her doom if Trump were to win. Her account has since also gone dark, despite her fervent anti-Trump tirades leading up to the election.
The trend continues with other prominent leftist figures like MSNBC’s Joy Reid and Harris campaign adviser David Plouffe. It’s almost as if they believe fleeing from X will shield them from reality. Instead, many of these self-proclaimed truth-sayers have been caught gravitating toward Bluesky, a platform that resembles a safe space for their echo chamber, employing familiar censorship tactics reminiscent of Twitter’s previous regime.
Bluesky has quickly become the go-to refuge for those who champion “truth” while promoting an agenda of moderation and safety over open dialogue. The platform’s executive team proudly touts their commitment to eradicating “disinformation” and ensuring that only certain viewpoints are amplified. With its leadership suggesting that the safety of women on social media is paramount, it’s hard to ignore the irony of a platform built on the concept of restricting free speech under the guise of safeguarding its users. The irony of self-proclaimed activists needing a safe haven from opposing viewpoints is a clear sign that for these individuals, the battle for political correctness is still alive and well, albeit in a diluted form.
