AOC Skips Key Event, Leaves Squad Colleague Bowman to Struggle in Tough Primary Battle

It sounds like AOC is living up to her reputation of flakiness and grandstanding. While she was all smiles and soundbites campaigning for her fellow Squad member Jamaal Bowman, her last-minute no-show at the Edenwald Community Center certainly speaks volumes. Proving that solidarity only goes as far as convenience, AOC left Bowman in the lurch during a critical moment in his primary challenge. Her sudden change in plans, attributed to a “shift in schedule,” somehow translated into a more “private” engagement rather than supporting her supposed ally.

Bowman, who’s facing off against Westchester County Executive George Latimer and already struggling with declining poll numbers, must be feeling the burn of this high-profile snub. Elections are crunch time, a make-or-break moment, and having an ally like AOC flake out last-minute doesn’t exactly instill confidence. Not to mention, the no-show from Bowman and his team at the Bronx polling site, which saw an unusually low turnout, paints a bleak picture for the Squad member’s prospects.

One would think AOC, facing her own primary challenge, would understand the gravity of campaign commitments. Instead, she chose to prioritize her district duties, leaving Bowman to fend for himself. This so-called shift in schedule looks more like a strategic dodge, especially given the inconvenient optics of Bowman’s race. And to top it off, AOC’s social media posts are all about her own achievements, with nary a mention of her fellow Squaddie’s struggle.

Adding to Bowman’s woes, there’s been a significant uptick in Jewish voter turnout, a demographic he’s antagonized with his anti-Israel rhetoric. His misguided jabs at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which is backing Latimer, surely haven’t helped his cause. AOC’s absence might just be the final nail in Bowman’s political coffin, a stark reminder that her support is as reliable as a Netflix Wi-Fi connection.

All things considered, Bowman’s odds are looking pretty grim. AOC’s antics, combined with slow Bronx turnout and a large Jewish voter base mobilizing against him, suggest he might want to start updating his resume. In true Squad fashion, when the going gets tough, the tough schedule private engagements instead.
