U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, that darling of the far-left, finds herself in quite the tizzy over President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration. With an exaggerated flair for the dramatic, this self-proclaimed media maven has dispatched a series of video statements that would make any soap opera star proud, branding the incoming administration as “authoritarian” while serving up a banquet of bizarre predictions for Trump’s next term. One can almost hear the collective eye-rolls from anyone not subscribed to her peculiar worldview.
Ocasio-Cortez is among a cadre of 20 House Democrats opting to skip the inauguration, which they’ve dubbed a “boycott.” It’s worth noting that while there are plenty of no-shows this time around, the numbers have thinned significantly since 2017. Back then, dozens of Democrats were throwing tantrums, mourning the election results like it was the end of the world. But hey, they’re still working hard to make headlines, even if it means staying home.
AOC is demonstrating her retardism again:
"We are in the eve of an authoritarian administration. This is what 21st century fascism looks like."

In her most recent Instagram grievances, AOC expressed deep sorrow, likening the Trump movement to “21st Century fascism.” This was apparently inspired by her knowledge of Hungary, a country that has conquered the art of self-governance under a conservative leader. It appears that Ocasio-Cortez completely fails to understand that democracy doesn’t cease to exist simply because a conservative is at the helm. But who needs facts when you can engage in hyperbolic comparisons that only serve to highlight one’s own ignorance?
Of course, no AOC performance would be complete without her promoting alternative social media platforms. Enter BlueSky, a fledgling app that has become a favorite among the far-left crowd. Perhaps she’s trading off good old-fashioned free speech for a colorfully branded version of censorship, which seems fitting given her views. Ocasio-Cortez seems to think that creating an echo chamber for like-minded voices is where it’s at—after all, who wants to engage with opposing viewpoints when they can just preach to the converted?
In a further testament to her melodrama, Ocasio-Cortez has taken to labeling Trump a “rapist,” a claim that has never been substantiated in a court of law. The public should be reminded that the actions of a jury, bolstered by dubious testimony and a laundry list of irregularities, hardly amounts to actual guilt. The latest circus revolves around E. Jean Carroll’s civil lawsuit, where lack of evidence and questionable claims somehow resulted in an award of $83.3 million. When media outlets like ABC News have to pay up for trying to ride the sensationalist wave alongside Ocasio-Cortez, it becomes apparent this opera house isn’t going anywhere good.
The moral of the story? While Ocasio-Cortez spins tales about the imminent doom of democracy under Trump, the real tragedy might just be her apparent lack of understanding that America survived eight years of Obama and will likely continue thriving under a president who knows how to connect with the heartland. One has to wonder if this is the price liberals pay for a reality check: skipping the inauguration and missing out on a chance to witness democracy in action—albeit one they clearly hope will collapse.
