Another day, another attempt on President Trump’s life. While the details surrounding this latest assassination attempt are still trickling in, one thing is certain: the man has become a prime target for those who can’t stand the sight of his face or the sound of his voice. It appears that some hard feelings may have turned into all-out hostility, showcasing just how far left some individuals are willing to go to silence a political opponent.
Recent reports reveal that a man armed with an AK-style rifle aimed his weapon at Trump while he was enjoying a leisurely round of golf in West Palm Beach, Florida. Shooting at a golf course? That’s a novel method for political protest, one that many may not have thought to employ. It’s as if these folks have forgotten that golf is supposed to be a relaxing pastime—perhaps the assailant thought he was golfing for bear instead of, you know, trying to take out a former president. Thankfully, the Secret Service was on high alert and responded with the swiftness that keeps American golf courses safe.

As the story unfolded, the FBI confirmed they are investigating what they termed an attempted assassination of the former president. Meanwhile, the would-be assailant fled the scene like a deer caught in headlights—dropping the gun and racing off only to be apprehended shortly after in a nearby county. It’s amusing how quickly one can go from a would-be assassin to a passenger in the backseat of a police cruiser. The folks in blue did their jobs; they cornered the suspect and had him in custody, safe and sound, which—let’s be honest—most Americans would undoubtedly see as a job well done.
During the aftermath, it was noted that the man behaved strangely, displaying a demeanor as flat as a soda left open overnight. Apparently, he didn’t even flinch when law enforcement converged on him. One has to wonder if he was confused about whether he was being pulled over for speeding or if maybe he thought this was just another stop-and-chat. Either way, he clearly didn’t grasp the gravity of his actions—a reminder that perhaps the individuals involved in such severe political maneuvers aren’t always playing with a full deck.
In response to this ordeal, one can only hope that security measures around Trump will continue to be bolstered. After an earlier attempt on his life back in July, he’d already increased his protective protocols. Now if only Trump could convince the Democrats to install some barriers against bad ideas during that campaign, perhaps that would offset some of the hostile motives people seem to latch onto in these politically charged times. The truth is, it’s a miracle that he’s unharmed; let’s just hope these kinds of incidents don’t become a regular chapter in the saga of Trump’s ongoing political career.
