In what can only be described as an absolutely wild twist, an attempt on Donald Trump’s life might have just secured Joe Biden’s candidacy for 2024. Just when everyone thought things couldn’t get any crazier, we’ve hit a whole new level of political circus.
Biden’s health and competence were already under heavy scrutiny after a debate performance that can only be compared to a slow-motion train wreck. It seemed inevitable that the Democrats would push him out of the race. They weren’t exactly hiding their knives either, pressuring him to make a gracious exit. But then, out of nowhere, a gunman at a Trump rally gave Biden the most unintentionally beneficial distraction anyone could ask for.
Hours before the shots rang out in Pennsylvania, Biden was virtually roasting himself in a “tense” Zoom call with congressional Democrats. If his debating was disastrous, this call was a dumpster fire. Participants couldn’t believe their eyes and ears. Biden aimlessly rambled, chasing his thoughts like a cat with a laser pointer, making even his most loyal supporters question their allegiance.
A looming mutiny was building among the Democrats like a tsunami ready to crash down on Biden. Around 50 of them were practically jumping at the bit to publicly call for his exit. But the assassination attempt on Trump created a sudden, jarring change of focus. The planned rebellion against Biden got shelved as everyone momentarily united in shock and condemnation of the violence.

Apparently, this chaos bought Biden a crucial 72-hour reprieve. The Hill, known for its ineptitude, couldn’t seize the moment to finalize their coup. With their coordination resembling a clown car drill rather than a strategic political maneuver, Biden’s camp exhaled in relief. Some insiders argued that this event effectively ended the heated conversation about finding Biden’s replacement.
Several notable Democrats, including Adam Schiff, had already jumped ship, voicing serious doubts about Biden’s ability to outmaneuver Trump in a re-election bid. But the tidal wave of discontent was halted abruptly by the plot to take down Trump, throwing everyone off their anti-Biden game.
Ironically, this incident saw Democrats rallying in sporadic defense of Biden and viewers suddenly rallying behind Trump. With 80 percent of voters expressing concern over Biden’s fitness for office, it seems like the shooting incident handed the former president a golden ticket to 2024 sympathy and support from an awakened electorate.
The ultimate irony is that what many see as Biden’s worst nightmare—concerns over his mental faculties—was momentarily forgotten in the wake of an assault on his opposite number. The left’s strategy blunders and the political world’s unpredictability might just be the reality TV drama Americans can’t turn off.
