The Biden administration is finally waking up to the dangers of “swatting” incidents, and they claim to be monitoring the situation “very closely.” Well, it’s about time! Swatting, for those who don’t know, is a ridiculous prank where some people think it’s funny to make false reports of dangerous events, causing a heavy police response at a targeted location. How any rational person finds that amusing is beyond me.
But let’s not forget, it took an incident at the White House for the administration to pay attention. A false alarm of a fire resulted in first responders rushing to the scene, only to discover that it was all a hoax. I mean, why would anyone want to waste precious emergency resources on such stupidity?

Now, don’t get this writer wrong. It’s great that President Biden wasn’t at the White House when this happened. After all, we wouldn’t want him to be caught up in the chaos. He had more important things to do, like preparing to travel to Philadelphia for Martin Luther King Day. But it’s concerning that it took an incident like this for the administration to realize the seriousness of swatting.
Thankfully, Biden’s press secretary acknowledged that swatting has become a danger to society. Well, duh! It’s not rocket science, folks. Making false reports that put innocent people’s lives at risk should never be taken lightly. It’s about time they started taking action against this malicious behavior.
It’s not just public officials who are being targeted by these swatting incidents. Even lesser-known individuals like the Delaware repairman who had Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop have fallen victim to these pranks. No one is safe from the twisted minds who find joy in terrorizing others.
Kudos to Senator Rick Scott for proposing a bill that would impose stiff criminal penalties on swatters. It’s time we start holding these perpetrators accountable for their actions. Swatting is not a harmless joke. It’s dangerous, it’s sickening, and it needs to stop.
In conclusion, it’s good to see the Biden administration acknowledging the seriousness of swatting incidents. But let’s not forget that it took an incident at the White House for them to wake up. It’s time to crack down on these malicious pranks and make sure those responsible face the consequences.
