Dr. Ethan Haim, a surgeon from a small town in Texas, is in trouble with the government for speaking out against Texas Children’s Hospital. According to reports, Haim could go to prison for ten years and have to pay a $250,000 fine. The Biden administration is targeting him because he revealed that Texas Children’s Hospital has a hidden program for young people who want to change their gender.

Texas Children’s Hospital, which is known as the biggest children’s hospital globally, is now under scrutiny. The hospital is accused of offering treatments to minors who want to transition to a different gender. Even though Texas made it illegal to provide these kinds of treatments to young people, Haim found out that the hospital was still performing these procedures.
The United States attorney for the Southern District of Texas, Alamdar S. Hamdani, declared that Haim is being pursued for accessing private health details of underage patients who were getting transgender services at the hospital. Haim then shared this information to show that Texas Children’s Hospital was not being truthful about its activities. The government claims that Haim got this information in a dishonest way and with the intention of harming the hospital.
The attorney general also alleges that Haim shared personal details about these patients with the media. However, Haim’s associate, Christopher Rufo, insists that Haim redacted most of the information he received and did not reveal any information that could identify the patients when he exposed the hospital’s actions.
It is clear that the Biden administration is supportive of allowing young people to have gender-altering procedures. The criticism against Haim seems to be more about him uncovering the hospital’s violations of Texas law and how they are affecting minors, rather than concerns about patient privacy. Dr. Haim believes that doctors should be transparent about the treatments they provide, especially when it involves children.
