There have been reports about President Joe Biden’s dogs, Commander and Major, attacking Secret Service agents and White House staff. The incidents were downplayed by the administration, but newly released records show these attacks happened more often than previously known. One incident in September 2023 involved Commander biting an agent twice on the arm while off-leash.
Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch obtained 116 pages of Secret Service emails and records through a Freedom of Information Act request. The documents revealed multiple instances where agents needed medical treatment due to dog bites. Pictures of damaged suits and emails from reporters seeking information were also included in the records.

The records showed at least 23 separate dog-biting incidents involving Secret Service agents at the White House and Biden’s properties between October 2022 and August 2023. Some incidents, like one that halted a public tour to clean blood off the floor, required medical attention for the injured agents.
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton criticized the Biden administration for allowing these attacks to happen and for attempting to hide documents related to the incidents. He raised concerns about the safety of Secret Service and White House employees due to the repeated dog attacks. The Biden family’s handling of the situation was called into question, with Fitton expressing gratitude that no one had been killed as a result of the attacks.
