The Biden administration has decided to spice up its legacy with some award-winning choices for the Presidential Medal of Freedom—namely, Hillary Clinton, the political equivalent of a soap opera character, and George Soros, the billionaire whose philanthropy appears more like an elaborate game of Monopoly with real-world consequences. While the White House claims this honor is meant for those who enhance America’s prosperity and values, it seems they have pulled a fast one by cozying up to their leftist pals in the final days of their term.
In a rather cheeky move, the White House included Soros in their list of “exemplary contributors,” portraying him as a benevolent philanthropist focused on strengthening democracy, human rights, and justice. However, to anyone paying attention, Soros’s version of “democracy” involves funneling billions into liberal campaigns and causes that seem to undermine law and order more than anything else. His contributions have not exactly led to a wave of TikTok dances celebrating peace, but rather a series of leftist policies that obliterate common-sense laws and encourage chaos.
As for Clinton, the White House lauds her for “making history” multiple times, with her résumé boasting titles like the first First Lady who transitioned to a political career. Yet, a closer read of her record reveals a rollercoaster ride of controversies and incompetence, including the infamous Benghazi scandal and her notorious private email server debacle. While the Biden administration paints her as a beacon of progress, it’s hard to see how anyone could look at her long, tangled history and conclude that she has positively influenced anything other than her own political survival.

Among the notable cast of awardees alongside Clinton and Soros are some true icons, like Denzel Washington and Bono. Yet, the spotlight is undoubtedly aimed at the politically charged choices that smell of ulterior motives. By handing out this prestigious medal to Soros and Clinton, it’s clear that the White House has opted for a populist-style reward fest aimed at keeping their leftist supporters happy. After all, it’s much easier to celebrate those who fill campaign coffers than those who actually contribute to the welfare of the nation.
In the grand scheme of things, the notion that Soros and Clinton should be viewed as contributors to the betterment of society is laughable. Their legacies are built on a foundation of questionable ethics and political maneuvering. If true justice dictated awards based on merit and positive contributions, these two would be more suited for a cozy cell at a federal prison rather than basking in the glow of a presidential honor. One can only hope this trend of backward thinking does not continue into the next administration.
