In a not-so-surprising turn of events, the Biden administration is taking Texas to court over a certain border fence. According to The Washington Times, the state of Texas put up a makeshift fence along the U.S.-Mexico border using razor wire, stretching approximately 110 miles. The purpose? To deter illegal border crossings. But oh no, the Biden administration isn’t having it. They claim that the fence is hindering their agents’ ability to “arrest and detain” border crossers. They’ve filed an emergency petition with the Supreme Court to override a federal appeals court decision that’s currently preventing them from cutting through the Texas fence.

Remember when you were a kid and wanted the cookie jar all to yourself? Well, the Biden administration is in full “I want the cookie jar” mode, as they’re seeking permission to cut through the Texas fence. They argue that federal law gives Border Patrol agents the authority to access private land within 25 miles of the border and to “arrest” and “detain” anyone trying to enter the U.S. illegally. But come on, does the Biden administration really think they’re the cool kids in the schoolyard right now? It seems like they’re turning a blind eye to Texas’ efforts to protect their own backyard.
And if that wasn’t enough, to make matters worse, according to CBS, over 300,000 people entered the southern border in December, and many of them were “military-age, single, adult males.” Retired Yuma Border Patrol chief Chris Clem even stated that this is what’s coming to our border. Yikes! But wait, there’s more. There are reports of over 15,000 illegal immigrants on their way to the southern border. It’s starting to feel like an invasion up in here!
In response to the surge at the border, the Biden administration is basically telling Texas, “Hey, cut away that pesky fence of yours.” But let’s be real here. It’s not really helping officers “arrest and detain” noncitizens, is it? It’s more like giving the green light for people to come on over and make themselves at home. It’s all quite comical if it weren’t so downright tragic.
