During his visit to the United Kingdom, President Joe Biden proved that he’s got a knack for following in the footsteps of his predecessor, Donald Trump. Just like Trump, Biden violated royal protocol during his meeting with King Charles, and boy, did the critics have a field day.

Walking ahead of the king? That’s a big no-no. Apparently, Biden missed the memo on royal etiquette. But not only that, he had the audacity to shake the king’s hand and even put a hand on his back. Talk about overfamiliarity!
Buckingham Palace tried to downplay the whole debacle by insisting that the king was “entirely comfortable” with Biden’s behavior. But let’s be real here – we all know they were just saving face. A source within the palace even confirmed that the king wasn’t exactly thrilled with Biden’s actions.
Nile Gardiner, the director of the Heritage Foundation’s Thatcher Center for Freedom, expressed his disapproval of Biden’s “overfamiliarity” with the king. And can you blame him? It’s not every day that a president decides to throw royal protocol out the window.
But here’s where it gets even juicier. Newsweek reported that Biden has a history of being anti-British. Apparently, the Veep co-executive producer, Georgia Pritchett, revealed in her autobiography that Biden’s mother had a burning hatred for the English. She even asked God to smite them! Yikes.
And if that wasn’t enough, Biden’s opposition to a treaty between the US and the UK back in 1986 shows his true colors. He clearly has no regard for the special relationship between our two countries. It’s no wonder that Gardiner believes Biden acts rudely towards Britain.
All in all, Biden’s meeting with King Charles was a display of his disregard for tradition, decorum, and the special bond between the United States and the United Kingdom. It’s a shame that our president can’t even follow basic royal protocol. But hey, who needs protocol when you’ve got a track record of disrespecting our closest ally?
