Biden also attempted to draw connections between Trump and racial tensions surrounding the historic church, using the tactic of insinuating racism to energize his base. Interestingly, Biden's own political history involves supporting segregationists and voting to posthumously restore U.S. citizenship to Confederate leaders, contradicting his attempts to portray his opponent as racist.
