Biden Ignores US Woes, Begs for More Ukraine Aid

President Joe Biden is set to hold a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as Zelensky makes his way to Washington, D.C. to lobby for even more military and humanitarian assistance amid his country’s war with Russia.

The White House claims the meeting is meant to “underscore the United States’ unshakeable commitment to supporting the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against Russia’s brutal invasion.” But let’s be real here, folks. Sounds like another excuse for Biden to flex his foreign policy muscles and avoid dealing with the issues facing American citizens right in his own backyard.

Zelensky has also made a plea to both chambers of Congress for assistance, but House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has stood firm, saying the lower chamber won’t grant additional aid to the country until a border security deal is reached. Hooray for common sense and standing up for our own borders! Johnson didn’t mince his words, telling reporters that the Biden administration is asking for “billions of additional dollars with no appropriate oversight, no clear strategy to win, and none of the answers that I think the American people are owed.”

It’s about time somebody called out this nonsense. While the Biden administration seems more focused on playing international hero, they should be prioritizing the needs of hardworking Americans and ensuring our own borders are secure. But hey, who needs a clear strategy and oversight when you’re busy trying to gain political points on the world stage, right?
