President Biden just couldn’t resist the urge to pander to the Greek American community at the reception celebrating Greek Independence Day. After being introduced by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, Biden wasted no time diving into his shameless pandering. He declared, “The only reason I’m able to stand here is because of the Greek community,” and then claimed to have an incredibly close relationship with the Greek American community, even suggesting that every Greek American in Delaware voted for him.
The President even had the audacity to announce that he was “Joe Bidenopolous,” attempting to create a false sense of kinship with the Greek American community. This shameless attempt to pander is nothing new for Biden. Back in 2012, while on a campaign stop in Warren, Ohio, Biden boasted, “I’m Joe Bidenopoulos,” as he approached a table of Greek men, trying to claim some sort of connection to Greek heritage, despite his Irish ancestry.

It’s important to note that Biden is not of Greek descent, and even went as far as hiring a genealogist to confirm his Irish heritage when he ran for the presidency in 2008. His continual faux claims of closeness to the Greek community only serve to highlight his disingenuous nature and his willingness to do or say anything to win support. This is not the behavior one would expect from the leader of the United States.
It’s clear that Biden’s attempt to connect with the Greek American community is nothing more than insincere pandering. His shameless grandstanding does a disservice to the Greek American community, and it’s time for him to stop using them as a political prop. This behavior is nothing short of pathetic and speaks volumes about his lack of authenticity and integrity as a leader.
