Over a hundred House Democrats sent a letter to Joe Biden, demanding that he provide more benefits to migrants who entered the US illegally. The Democrats are trying to take away from the opportunities of Americans by granting work permits to these individuals, which could put jobs at risk.
Almost half of the House Democrats signed the letter, demanding that President Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas grant work permits to migrants who came to the US illegally. They also want to reduce the waiting period for people who are hoping to get a work permit.
According to the Democrats, asylum seekers should be permitted to work immediately after they file their claims. But, what about the millions of Americans who have been patiently waiting for jobs? This is yet another example of the extreme left's attempt to ignore the interests of the country's citizens.
It's not just the conservative movement that's concerned about the effects of illegal immigration on the American workforce. A study conducted by George Borjas, an economist, revealed that bringing foreign nationals into the country lowers wages for workers. Democrats are also responsible for this, as they're driving down the salaries of people who are lucky enough to get a job.
According to the New York Post, the number of new immigrants in the US in 2023 could be as high as 800,000. This influx is threatening the safety and well-being of cities such as New York. Mayor Eric Adams warned that if the president doesn't act to address the growing issue, it will "destroy" the city. Despite the concerns of American citizens, the Democrats are still pushing for policies that are harmful to the country.
It's clear that House Democrats are more concerned with appeasing the far left and pushing their own agenda than addressing the needs of Americans. President Biden and Deputy Secretary Mayorkas should prioritize the welfare of American workers and put an end to open borders.
