President Joe Biden expressed his extreme dissatisfaction with the Supreme Court’s ruling on affirmative action policies in college admissions. From the comfort of the White House, Biden criticized the Court for supposedly abandoning decades of precedent and undoing the “momentous progress” that has been made. It’s clear that Biden doesn’t quite comprehend the issue at hand. The problem with using race as a basis for admissions decisions, regardless of when it occurs, is that it goes against the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. But hey, who needs pesky constitutional principles when you’ve got a desire for diversity, right?
Biden shamelessly invoked the “promise of America” to defend his stance on race-based admissions. However, Justice Clarence Thomas, in his concurring opinion on affirmative action, eloquently declared that the solution to racial problems cannot be found in policies grounded in affirmative action or equity. The true solution lies in viewing each other as equals and treating everyone equally before the law. It’s a simple concept that seems to have gone over Biden’s head.

It’s pretty alarming that Biden, by opposing the Supreme Court ruling, is essentially saying that he wants Americans to judge each other based on the color of their skin. How backward and racist can you be? Biden even argues that this approach somehow protects diversity and expands opportunity. But in reality, it only perpetuates stereotyped racial assumptions and undermines true meritocracy.
Despite the Court’s ruling, Biden is urging colleges and universities to continue considering “racial discrimination that individuals have faced.” Well, unless students voluntarily disclose this information, it seems like Biden expects these institutions to rely on nothing more than racial assumptions. It’s a recipe for disaster and a step backward in the pursuit of equal treatment.
To top it all off, Biden refused to take any questions following his remarks, showing his disregard for accountability and transparency. When asked if the Supreme Court was a “rogue court,” Biden couldn’t even give a straight answer, simply stating that it’s “not a normal court.” Apparently, he’s more interested in playing politics than addressing legitimate concerns about the integrity of the judiciary.
In conclusion, Biden’s reaction to the Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action reveals his misguided priorities and willingness to embrace policies that fundamentally undermine equality. It’s a disappointing display of ignorance and a disservice to those who value equal treatment and the principles upon which this nation was founded.
