In the midst of a storm of bad luck for President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, recent events have left the White House scrambling to save face. Biden’s disastrous debate performance on CNN drew widespread criticism, with his team pointing fingers at his debate prep squad for the blunder.
Following the debate debacle, the White House’s attempt to salvage the situation with a hastily put together speech only seemed to make matters worse, portraying Biden as confused and out of touch. As if things couldn’t get any more chaotic, a Vogue magazine issue featuring a heavily airbrushed First Lady caused a stir with a quote hinting at a self-centered outlook on decision-making.

CNN’s Jake Tapper added fuel to the fire by lambasting Biden and Democrats for trying to downplay the president’s obvious struggles during the debate. Tapper’s criticisms of the Biden camp’s attempts to gaslight voters into thinking all is well only highlighted the growing disconnect between the administration’s narrative and reality.
Even Politico, traditionally left-leaning, didn’t hold back, publishing an article detailing the White House’s struggle to manage Biden’s limitations and penchant for isolation from differing opinions. The piece painted a picture of a president who only listens to a select few advisers, creating a bubble of control around him that eventually burst during the debate.
