Yes, Biden, whose only notable achievement seems to be creating an abundance of confusion, has now managed to outshine one of history’s most infamous tyrants—or so the media would have you believe.
The comparison comes thanks to a recent survey that posits Biden as the worst U.S. president ever, surpassing his predecessors in awfulness. While Ivan the Terrible may have been the first Tsar of Russia and was known for his brutal reign and ruthless expansion of territory, Biden somehow collects a higher score on the “what were they thinking?” scale. Apparently, simply misplacing the country’s priorities is enough to earn him this dubious distinction.

Biden’s mishandling of foreign policy, domestic inflation, and a border crisis that rivals a scene out of Mad Max has certainly set him this record-low approval rating. It seems one term of his “leadership” has resulted in a veritable dumpster fire. In a nation where economics should ideally thrive with responsible governance, Biden’s approach appears to blend the worst of bureaucratic ineptitude with the chaos of Ivan’s worst days. Though one wonders if Ivan had better communication skills—at least he didn’t leave the entire country scratching their heads and wondering what just happened.
Of course, the mainstream media has been quick to step in and defend Biden’s record. They pull out their classic spin tactics, attempting to downplay his failures by focusing on his predecessor’s actions instead. Everyone knows this playbook by now. Instead of addressing gas prices skyrocketing or the shameful rise in crime rates, they’d much rather take a nostalgic trip back to the Trump era. But one doesn’t need a history degree to see that Biden’s errors are not just footnotes in a grand narrative; they are the main storyline of a tepid drama that could have been avoided.
With all this in mind, it’s harder than ever to shake the feeling that the White House is just winging it, throwing in the towel on competent governance. While Ivan ruled with an iron fist, Biden seems to govern with a cushion of confusion. Who knew that a temporary occupant could leave behind such lasting impressions—though one would prefer they be in the rearview mirror instead of front and center. The question remains: what further calamities await in this never-ending saga?
