In a baffling move that has left many Americans scratching their heads, President Joe Biden rolled out the red carpet for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his recent visit to the White House. While the two leaders exchanged pleasantries and made promises of aid and support, everyday Americans in places like East Palestine and Maui continue to suffer and be forgotten.
It’s no secret that Biden has a habit of being absent during times of crisis. When wildfires ravaged Maui, where was our Commander-in-Chief? Oh, that’s right, he was on vacation. And even when he finally decided to grace the island with his presence, he managed to blunder his way through, mispronouncing names and telling irrelevant stories. It’s clear that Biden’s priority is not the American people, but his own self-interest.
But the negligence doesn’t end there. Eight months have passed since the tragic train derailment in East Palestine, and still, Biden hasn’t bothered to visit the devastated community. He keeps putting it off, making empty promises while the residents suffer. It’s shameful and shows a complete lack of leadership.
And let’s not forget the issue of toxic water and the slow response from Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency. People are afraid to return home and bring their children back due to the health risks. But does Biden seem to care? Not a chance. He’s too busy focusing on Ukraine and showering them with aid while neglecting his own citizens.
Luckily, there are some politicians who have stepped up to fight for the forgotten Americans. Senator JD Vance from Ohio has been a vocal advocate for the people of East Palestine, calling out the administration’s inexcusable response. It’s refreshing to see someone who is truly dedicated to serving the needs of the American people, rather than playing politics on the global stage.
Even the timing of Zelenskyy’s visit to Congress and the White House raises eyebrows. With potential government shutdowns looming, you would think Biden would have more pressing matters to attend to. But no, he prioritizes foreign affairs over the needs of his own people. It’s a clear example of his misguided leadership and misplaced priorities.
As Americans continue to suffer and be forgotten, it’s becoming increasingly clear that we need a leader who puts America first. We deserve better than a president who takes frequent naps and bumbles his way through important meetings. It’s time for a change, and it’s up to us, the American people, to demand it.
