Democrats are dismissing speculation that President Joe Biden’s emphasis on the differences between Bidenomics and “MAGAnomics” is a reflection of public dissatisfaction with his economic policies. Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison made it clear that the upcoming election is all about contrasting two agendas: one that focuses on delivering for the American people and another that only benefits the wealthiest corporations.
Harrison mentioned the American Rescue Plan and the current “manufacturing renaissance” as examples of what the Democrats have done to deliver for the American people, despite polling that shows Biden’s economic approval at a low 37%. Harrison also pointed out that the Republicans have failed to create more jobs, fix infrastructure, and fill potholes.
Nancy Pelosi, former Speaker of the House, echoed Harrison’s sentiments during the pre-Republican debate call, emphasizing that campaigns are all about drawing comparisons. Pelosi highlighted how the Democrats have made a difference for working families and stressed the importance of the Biden-Harris ticket prevailing for the sake of the people and the children.
Meanwhile, Biden has been discussing Bidenomics and “MAGAnomics” in an effort to contrast his economic vision with that of former President Donald Trump, who remains the Republican front-runner.
The White House plans to spend the fall holding House Republicans accountable for the MAGAnomics agenda and highlighting Biden’s proposals to make the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share, protect social programs, and reduce the deficit.
