President Joe Biden, who seems to have a bit of trouble staying on his feet, had a less-than-graceful year in 2023. His annual physical, performed by Dr. Kevin O’Connor in February, revealed that Biden is dealing with a few health issues. He has atrial fibrillation, peripheral neuropathy in his feet, and hyperlipidemia.

To try and avoid any embarrassing tumbles, Biden started using the second, shorter staircase on Air Force One. It makes sense, considering most of his falls happened while trying to navigate those tall plane stairs.
In February, Biden had a close call while boarding Air Force One in Poland. He stumbled but managed to catch himself before any serious damage was done.
March brought another trip-up for our president. This time, he almost took a spill on the steps leading up to Air Force One. With his 80-year-old body, a fall like that could have been a one-way ticket to the hospital.
In May, Biden took a stumble while meeting with G7 leaders at the Itsukushima Shrine. He must have been so distracted by all those important world leaders that his feet forgot how to function properly.
At the U.S. Air Force Academy graduation ceremony in June, Biden had a major fall on stage. He tripped on a black sandbag, but thankfully, he bounced right back up and carried on like nothing happened.
And finally, in October, Biden nearly wiped out while walking up a short flight of steps in Philadelphia. This time, he was there to deliver a speech about global warming and “Bidenomics.” Maybe his belief in “Bidenomics” is what kept him from faceplanting on the stairs.
All jokes aside, it’s concerning to see a president who has such difficulty staying on his feet. It raises questions about his overall health and ability to lead our country effectively. We want a president who can stand strong, both physically and politically.
