Biden’s 2024 Run Teetering? Harris in the Wings!

President Biden’s 2024 reelection bid could be shorter than a rabbit’s tail, according to recent hints from the White House. Although the Democrats are yelling “Nuh-uh!” to anyone suggesting Biden should throw in the towel, the president himself is dropping clues that he might not stick around until the end of the race.

Biden has been beating the drum, making the election sound like a choice between him and former President Donald Trump, who’s leading the pack in the Republican primaries. But hold onto your hats, folks, because Biden is winking at the idea of an exit strategy.\

The President recently implied that if Trump hadn’t thrown his hat in the ring, he might have been kicking back with a cold lemonade instead of hitting the campaign trail. “If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running, but we cannot let him win,” Biden said. When pressed on whether he’d run sans Trump, Biden replied with a confident “I expect so.” But, hang on, because he quickly added, “But, look, he is running, and I have to run.”

The slip-ups don’t stop there, friends. Biden has been gifting Vice President Kamala Harris with an upgrade, mistakenly calling her “President Harris” more times than he can count. From playoff celebrations to birthday shoutouts, Biden seems to have “President Harris” on the brain. To top it off, he’s been handing over the reins at some big shindigs, like the United Nations climate summit in Dubai and the National September 11 Memorial and Museum ceremony in New York City. It’s like he’s giving Harris the keys to the kingdom while he kicks back with a cold one in Alaska.

Some folks are scratching their heads, wondering if Biden’s setting the stage for a grand exit and pushing Harris into the spotlight as his potential successor. But hold onto your tea, because not everyone’s convinced she’s got what it takes to face off against Trump in the big leagues.
