Joe Biden’s approval ratings continue to plummet in recent polls, and it’s no surprise. This president just can’t seem to get anything right. From his handling of various issues to his administration’s ongoing gaslighting tactics, Biden is failing to impress the American people. However, believe it or not, there are some polls out there that actually show a slight improvement in his approval ratings. But let’s not get too excited, folks. These numbers are still far from impressive.
NBC POLL: Biden's approval rating "sits at just 43%."
"A full 68% of voters — including 43% of Democrats, which is twice what it was in 2020 — say they are concerned that Biden does not have the necessary mental and physical health to be president." pic.twitter.com/4WPnuhDQo3

According to the RealClearPolitics average, Biden currently stands at a measly 42.5 percent approval rating, with a whopping 53.3 percent of Americans expressing their disapproval. That’s a spread of -10.8, which is still not great, to say the least. Sure, one might argue that he’s doing slightly better than he was a month ago, when his spread was at -14.5, but let’s not forget that the bar was already set pretty low.
So, what’s behind this supposed boost in Biden’s ratings? Well, it turns out that some of these polls have a rather skewed sample. Take, for example, the NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll, which included more Democrats and Democrat-leaning Independents than Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents. Can we really trust the results of a poll that’s clearly stacked against conservatives? I think not.
Another poll, conducted by the Economist/YouGov, also had a slightly higher number of Democrats participating compared to Republicans. It’s no wonder they found a 47 percent approval rating for Biden. These polls may try to paint a rosy picture, but their methodology raises serious questions about their validity.
To make matters worse, there’s a poll from the Daily Kos/Civiqs that paints a much bleaker picture for Biden. It shows him with a spread of -18, with only 37 percent approval among registered voters. Ouch! That’s not a good look for our dear president.
It’s not all doom and gloom, though. Gallup recently released a poll that showed Biden with his highest approval rating since August. But let’s not forget that this poll was conducted around the time he signed a bill to raise the debt ceiling, which passed with bipartisan support. You see, it’s the allure of bipartisanship that seems to have swayed some Independents in Biden’s favor. But really, can we trust these Independents to make good decisions? They’re often easily swayed by empty promises and feel-good rhetoric.
And let’s not overlook the fact that Biden’s own party, the Democrats, have a rather high approval rating of 82 percent. But even that pales in comparison to his March numbers, when he had an 87 percent approval rating among Democrats. It seems even members of his own party are starting to see through his facade.
But perhaps the most interesting poll comes from NBC News, which shows that 68 percent of voters have concerns about Biden’s mental and physical health. And guess what? That includes 43 percent of Democrats. It’s clear that the American people are worried about the capabilities of our president, and rightly so.
In the end, we must take these polls with a grain of salt. After all, we’re still a year and a half away from the 2024 election. But if history has taught us anything, it’s that Biden could still manage to secure a win despite his abysmal performance. That is, of course, if the Republican Party doesn’t mess it up again. Come on, Republicans, get your act together and give the people a viable alternative. We can’t afford another four years of Biden’s incompetence.
