John Kirby and Karine Jean-Pierre seem to think they’re running a daycare instead of handling the White House press office. When they started calling Biden’s sparse media interactions a “Big Boy press conference,” it was hard to stifle a laugh. Trust the Biden administration to make a conversation with the media sound like a toddler’s graduation ceremony.
What’s next, congratulating him on using his big-boy words? The American public must be overjoyed to know that their leader needs a pat on the back just for showing up. Perhaps someone should tell them that leading the free world requires more than just putting on a grown-up hat for a few minutes.

The bar here is so low, one might mistake it for subterranean. It’s a wonder these press secretaries aren’t handing out participation trophies to the President. Imagine the delight of the adversarial media when they realized they were the audience of this kindergarten recital. Must have been hard for the media to keep a straight face while keeping their pacifiers tucked away.
All of this makes one wonder: When did basic duties of the job start counting as extraordinary feats? All Americans ever wanted was straightforward communication, not a circus of infantilizing phrases. This “Big Boy press conference” is a joke, a perfect example of the administration’s talent for turning routine events into sideshows.
The reality is that Americans expect competence and confidence from their leaders, not preschool antics. An informed citizenry deserves mature and honest dialogue, not diaper-changing ceremonies. “Big Boy press conference”? More like trying to polish a lackluster performance with a cutesy nickname. This administration really has its priorities straight—just not in any way that benefits the American people.
