In a shocking display of misplaced priorities, President Joe Biden has sent over $66 billion of American taxpayer money to Ukraine since the start of its war with Russia. That’s enough money to build a border wall nearly two times across the entire U.S.-Mexico border. This massive allocation of funds comes at a time when our own border is in crisis and in desperate need of securing.
Since 2022, Congress has approved over $113 billion in aid for Ukraine, making it the largest recipient of U.S. foreign aid. The majority of this money has gone towards military contractors and weapons, while the rest has gone to supplement Ukraine’s budget and provide humanitarian relief. Meanwhile, our own border remains largely unprotected and illegal immigration continues to skyrocket.
It’s estimated that the amount of money sent to Ukraine could have completed two brand new walls spanning the roughly 1,900-mile-long U.S.-Mexico border. Former President Donald Trump was able to build almost 460 miles of wall with just $15 billion. Yet President Biden has shown little interest in securing our border, instead opting to prioritize the interests of a foreign nation.
Angel Mom Sabine Durden Coulter, whose son was killed by an illegal alien, expressed her outrage at Biden’s decision to focus on foreign borders rather than our own. She pointed out the preventable deaths caused by illegal immigration and the flow of drugs like fentanyl across our open border. It’s a tragic reality that could be addressed with the construction of a secure border wall.

The Biden administration’s neglect of our border security has forced states like Texas to take matters into their own hands. Governor Greg Abbott has implemented measures such as a floating barrier in the Rio Grande to prevent illegal immigration. Arizona’s former governor had even resorted to filling gaps in the border wall with storage containers. It’s clear that states are stepping up where the federal government has failed.
While Biden pours billions into Ukraine, millions of illegal aliens have crossed our southern border. Last year alone, over 109,000 Americans died from drug overdoses and poisonings, many of which were caused by drugs coming through our porous border. The alarming number of deaths continues to rise, and yet Biden remains focused on distant conflicts rather than the safety and well-being of American citizens.
It’s time for our leaders to prioritize the security and prosperity of our own nation. We deserve better than an administration that sends billions of dollars overseas while our own cities are overrun and our resources are squandered on those who are here illegally. Let’s close our border, finish the wall, and ensure the safety and prosperity of the American people.
