In a shocking turn of events, the number of migrant encounters at the U.S.-Mexico border has skyrocketed to never-before-seen levels. According to federal data that was just updated on Tuesday, Border Patrol recorded a staggering 176,000 migrant encounters at the southern border in January. This shatters the previous record set in 2023, which was already alarmingly high at 157,358 encounters. It’s clear that the Biden administration’s weak stance on immigration has only emboldened those seeking to break our laws and enter the country illegally.
But it’s not just the sheer number of encounters that’s concerning. Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott took matters into his own hands by seizing control of a city park along the border and erecting additional razor wire. And do you know why he did that? Because the Supreme Court ruling said that the federal government could just cut the wire! It’s like our own government is actively working against us in the fight to secure our borders.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, the House of Representatives is now set to vote for the second time on articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The first attempt failed, but that hasn’t stopped House Democrats from pursuing their baseless and politically motivated agenda. It’s no wonder that four Republicans had the audacity to join forces with the Democrats in voting against these impeachment articles. They must have forgotten whose side they’re supposed to be on.
But wait, there’s more. The Biden administration has proudly reported record illegal immigration numbers under their watch. In fiscal year 2022, there were over 2.2 million illegal migrant encounters at the southern border. And in fiscal year 2023, that number jumped to over 2 million. And get this, in the current fiscal year of 2024, there have already been over 753,000 illegal migrant encounters. It’s a never-ending parade of lawlessness and chaos, all thanks to the failed policies of the Biden administration.
The statement from Troy A. Miller, the Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Commissioner, is nothing more than empty words. He claims that seasonal trends and enhanced enforcement efforts have led to a 50% drop in border encounters between ports of entry. But the reality is that our border patrol agents are overwhelmed and struggling to keep up with the influx of illegal migrants. It’s clear that the capacity of our immigration system is being pushed to the breaking point.
It’s high time that we hold the Biden administration accountable for their disastrous handling of our border security. We need leaders who will prioritize the safety and well-being of American citizens over the whims and desires of those who seek to exploit our system. Only then can we truly begin to address the serious challenges we face and regain control of our borders.
