Late Friday evening, President Joe Biden sat in the Oval Office relishing in the “bipartisan” debt ceiling deal he made with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. The deal came at the last minute to avoid a government default that Biden claimed would have been “catastrophic” for the U.S. and global economies. The president went on to boast about his efforts to cut the deficit by $1.7 trillion, but unfortunately, it appears that these claims are nothing more than lies.

Throughout his presidency, Biden promised Americans that they would not have to pay additional federal taxes if they earned less than $400,000 annually. However, it has been discovered that the President has already raised the tax burden on low-income Americans that make as little as $20,000 annually. It’s clear that the President’s promises and lies have come back to bite him.
Moreover, Moody’s Analytics has revealed that the actions of the Biden administration and Congress have led to higher deficits rather than smaller ones. Yet, Biden continued to gaslight Americans, explaining the need to increase revenue through tax hikes to reduce the deficit. It’s evident that this increase in taxes will have a massive impact on hard-working American citizens, with Biden’s proposed Ukraine war being a massive expense that the Administration needs to cut out.
It’s troubling that Biden is still touting his efforts to prevent Republicans from shrinking his agenda whilst claiming he needs to reduce spending. The President needs to remember that under his watch, the national debt has increased by over $30 trillion for the first time in U.S. history. Instead of thinking of ways to reduce spending, he should focus on cutting out unnecessary expenses like his proposed Ukraine war.
Additionally, it’s concerning that Biden is considering raising taxes on the wealthy, something that Republicans have opposed. While he states that it may not happen during his term, it’s unlikely ever to happen. It’s essential to remember Biden’s uncertainty around this idea, and it’s unlikely that it will ever take place.
In conclusion, Biden should be reminded that he is not beyond criticism in his debt ceiling deal, and his lies are now catching up with him. It’s about the people of this great nation, and they should not have to bear the burden of his mistakes.
