This has prompted the Democrats to roll out a rather peculiar narrative regarding Florida, which has become a source of both amusement and concern.
In a hilarious twist, Democrats appear to be banking their hopes on a recent golf cart parade in The Villages, Florida. This event, allegedly showcasing widespread support for Kamala Harris, has been touted as a significant indicator of her campaign’s viability. However, the reality is that The Villages is a firmly red enclave in a red state, where Republicans hold a substantial advantage. The mere fact that Democrat Barbie Hall, a candidate for Congress in this Republican stronghold, is trying to spin a few golf carts into a major political event reveals just how desperate the party has become.

Barbie Hall enthusiastically claimed that the turnout for the parade was monumental, even managing to catch the attention of the Democratic National Committee chair, Jaime Harrison. It seems that Democrats are excited over the prospect of a few hundred golf carts parading through a conservative suburb, despite the fact that this area’s congressional seat is held by Republican Daniel Webster, who trounced his opponent by nearly 30 points in the last election. If 200 golf carts equate to a thriving grassroots movement, then one has to wonder what constitutes a real rally for Democrats.
In another comical development, Nikki Fried, the former agricultural commissioner whose political ambitions have repeatedly flopped, was elevated to lead the state party thanks to her impressive record of losing. With such leadership, it’s no surprise that the Democrats are hilariously misguided about their chances in Florida. Fried’s inability to win state office has not dulled her enthusiasm for leading the state’s Democrats into what may be another devastating defeat.
So, what’s the real size of this grand golf cart spectacle? With a population of about 79,000, claiming that an event featuring over 200 golf carts means Florida is suddenly a swing state is a stretch. Even if every golf cart had two people aboard, that would barely put a dent in what would be needed to sway a significant voter base in a state that has been trending red for years.
One can only fantasize about the Democrats pouring millions into a hopeless campaign fueled by delusions stemming from golf cart gatherings and overzealous proclamations. The more they insist Florida is in play, the more it actually solidifies Republican resolve. Instead of investing in a lost cause, it might be wiser for them to reconsider their strategy altogether. The sunny shores of Florida are unlikely to welcome Kamala Harris with open arms, no matter how many golf carts are driven around.
