President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address in March left a bad taste in the mouths of a dozen Republican senators, and they’re not biting their tongues. The prez’s plan to send the military on a fancy-schmancy Mediterranean mission to build a temporary pier off the coast of Gaza to receive humanitarian aid has GOP feathers ruffled.
The senators, led by the one and only Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), penned a letter to the president stating their “strong reservations” about sending U.S. troops on this mission. They’re not so hot and bothered with the prez’s idea to cozy up to the Israelis and build the pier, but they reckon it’s playing fast and loose with American lives. They’re hollerin’ about the risk to U.S. personnel, y’all.
There are some big, unanswered questions about Biden's "plan" to build a humanitarian pier on Gaza's Mediterranean coast — one that notably "appears to ignore force protection issues entirely against an enemy that tries to kill Americans every day." https://t.co/3LDNvrBB7v

And that ain’t even the half of it, folks. The senators are flappin’ their gums about how the prez’s plan don’t even scratch the surface of solving the real problem in Gaza. They claim that Hamas is the root cause of all this humanitarian hoopla and they want to see those bad hombres surrender before they go givin’ them any aid. Like, duh.
Now, when it comes to security, the GOP gang ain’t exactly doing somersaults over here. They’re squawkin’ about the lack of consideration for the safety of our troops in the face of those dastardly terrorists. They’re pointin’ fingers at Iran-backed baddies and making sure the prez knows that they won’t stand for any funny business with our troops’ safety.
The senators ain’t just flappin’ their gums, either. They’ve fired off a whole list of questions to the Department of Defense, demandin’ to know what the heck they’re thinkin’! They’re askin’ everything but the kitchen sink, y’all. They wanna know how much all this tomfoolery is gonna cost, who’s callin’ the shots, and what the plan is to keep all that aid outta the hands of the bad guys.
And can you blame ‘em? Them senators are lookin’ at the mess in Afghanistan and they ain’t too keen on seein’ history repeat itself, nosiree.
