The notion of watching Joe Biden address the nation may have struck fear in the hearts of many. What’s the point of tuning into another performance by the man who seems more like a sleep-deprived zombie than a Commander in Chief? His recent broadcast was an embarrassment that would make a soap opera star cringe. Biden’s ability to connect with reality has dwindled significantly, and watching him is like witnessing a slow-motion train wreck—it’s hard to look away, yet utterly painful to behold.
Public addresses by presidents typically mark crucial moments in the fabric of the nation. Think back to Ronald Reagan’s powerful words after the Challenger disaster, a far cry from Biden’s aimless rambling. Instead of proactive leadership and clarity, viewers were treated to the unsettling spectacle of an octogenarian who looked as if he was operating on borrowed time and multiple layers of makeup, much like a poorly executed Halloween costume.

While Biden was mumbling through a not-so-coherent speech, the world didn’t pause. In fact, as he was fumbling with his lines, Russian and Chinese bombers were combining forces to test Alaskan airspace. That’s the kind of “unified front” the Biden White House seems to ignore while they focus on keeping their figurehead propped up on stage. This isn’t merely a matter of old age; it’s about national security, and the contrast couldn’t be more alarming.
Health experts have weighed in, and the consensus is quite concerning. Reports suggested Biden’s low blink rate during the speech hinted at Parkinson’s disease. Meanwhile, his overly dry mouth and zombie-like demeanor can also be signs of cognitive decline or something more severe, such as dementia. The best-case scenario? The president might have been under the influence of some stimulating medications, which, while potentially maintaining his physical vigor, would do little to salvage his cognitive state, so much for having a sharp-minded leader steering the ship through turbulent waters.
The real kicker is that as long as there’s a warm body securely fastened to the chair behind the Resolute Desk, those in charge appear satisfied. The Biden administration seems to be okay with dragging out this charade. Perhaps they think having a figurehead is better than facing the reality of losing power, even if that figurehead is a shadow of his former self. It’s clear to anyone paying attention: for the good of the nation, it would be best if somebody finally did something about this.
