According to a Times article published on March 31, 2022, Biden privately expressed his belief that Trump posed a threat to democracy and should be prosecuted for his role in the events of January 6. He also reportedly expressed frustration with Attorney General Merrick Garland’s approach, calling for him to “act less like a ponderous judge and more like a prosecutor who is willing to take decisive action.”
