It seems like Joe Biden just can’t catch a break when it comes to picking nominees for important positions, especially when it comes to federal courts. Instead of prioritizing competence and qualifications, it appears that Biden is more interested in selecting nominees who fit the Democrats’ political narrative and who tick off all the right boxes. What a shocker!
One senator who has been doing a fantastic job of calling out this issue is the honorable John Kennedy from Louisiana. He has repeatedly exposed the inadequacies of Biden’s nominees during Judiciary Committee hearings, leaving them stumbling and bumbling under his scrutiny.
Pres. Biden sent us a nominee who didn’t know the basics of the U.S. Constitution.

But finally, we have some good news to report. Biden has withdrawn one of his nominees, Spokane County Superior Court Judge Charnelle Bjelkengren, after she was embarrassingly decimated by Senator Kennedy’s line of questioning. It’s a small victory for the Republicans, but a victory nonetheless.
Bjelkengren’s nomination expired at the end of 2023, and it’s a relief to know that her name is not among the 18 nominees the White House resubmitted for consideration by the Senate. It turns out, even Bjelkengren herself recognized her shortcomings and requested that the White House not resubmit her name to the Senate. Good call, Bjelkengren.
During the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in January 2023, Senator Kennedy effortlessly exposed Bjelkengren’s lack of knowledge about the Constitution. It’s truly mind-boggling how someone being considered for a federal judgeship couldn’t even answer basic questions about Articles 5 and 2 of the Constitution. Her response? They just weren’t “coming to mind.” Seriously?
Kennedy wasted no time in pointing out the obvious: Biden’s nominee was clueless and unqualified to serve as a federal judge. He rightly stated that “people who don’t know the law have no business running our courtrooms.” Bravo, Senator Kennedy, for once again shedding light on Biden’s incompetence.
While it’s commendable that Bjelkengren had the good sense to withdraw her own nomination, the real problem lies with Biden and his incessant attempts to populate the judiciary with unqualified individuals. How many more embarrassing moments and inadequate nominees will it take for Biden to understand that competence matters?
Senator Kennedy deserves a well-deserved victory lap for his efforts in exposing these nominees for what they are: unqualified and unfit for the bench. However, it’s not enough for Kennedy to keep doing the heavy lifting. We, the American people, need to vote Biden out so that this problem can finally be put to rest. It’s time for real leadership and a president who values competence over political narratives.
