Denzel Washington and Magic Johnson are undoubtedly deserving of their accolades, but when the Presidential Medal of Freedom begins to resemble a participation trophy handed out in a kindergarten class, it’s time to raise an eyebrow. Enter Joe Biden and his latest list of medal recipients, which reads more like a “who’s who” of political opportunists rather than true American heroes. Hillary Clinton and George Soros both grabbed their shiny medals, prompting the question: how far down the rabbit hole has this administration gone?
Soros, the man notorious for his attempts to rewire the American justice system with his leftist agenda, now sports a medal that was supposed to symbolize genuine achievement, not leftist loyalty. When billionaires like him are celebrated, it raises the stakes on how far political favoritism has managed to cheapen this once-respected honor. Perhaps next they’ll start handing them out for simply showing up to a press conference.
Adding an amusing twist to the events, soccer star Lionel Messi was notably absent from the ceremony. While the mainstream media may spun this as a mere scheduling conflict, many couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought of Messi throwing a proverbial “F-U” to Biden by opting not to attend. Messi has won virtually every award imaginable in sports, yet even he seemed to recognize that accepting the medal alongside the likes of Soros and Clinton could tarnish his own legacy.

When a global icon chooses to skip out on the lecherous fray of Washington politics, it signals that the medal is becoming as valuable as Monopoly money.
With a lineup of recipients that reads like a political hit list, the medal is losing its luster faster than a lead balloon. Soros’ influence alone has wreaked havoc across the nation and beyond, creating havoc in our communities through various left-leaning District Attorneys he funds. Awarding him such recognition only serves to underscore how Biden’s White House keeps reaching for the bottom of the barrel when it comes to choosing who gets honored. If the intent was to celebrate truly uplifting figures, they might want to consider steering the ship in a new direction—away from the ever-deepening swamp of political insiders and elitists.
