Biden’s Press Sec Caught Violating Hatch Act: Mega MAGA Blunder & Zero Accountability!

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has been found to have violated the Hatch Act by the Office of Special Counsel (OSC) due to her comments about the 2022 midterm elections. Although Jean-Pierre has frequently used the Hatch Act as a reason not to discuss politics during her press briefings, she crossed the line with her remarks last year, as reported by NBC News. The Hatch Act prohibits federal employees from engaging in certain political activities, but Jean-Pierre utilized her position in November 2022 to demonize President Biden’s opponents using terms such as “mega MAGA Republicans.”

Despite the clear violation of the law, the White House Counsel’s Office apparently did not believe that Jean-Pierre’s comments were prohibited at the time. Consequently, the OSC has decided against pursuing disciplinary action, instead issuing a warning letter. While the White House claims to take the Hatch Act seriously, this isn’t the first time that members of the Biden administration have violated the law. Health & Human Services Sec. Xavier Becerra and former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain have also been found in violation.

Jean-Pierre’s violation of the Hatch Act should come as no surprise, considering the Biden administration’s track record for flouting the law. It seems that they are a repeat offender when it comes to promoting their party’s self-interest and attacking their political opponents. Unfortunately, this type of behavior is becoming par for the course within the current administration. It’s a good idea for them to start taking the Hatch Act seriously and upholding its principles, so the public can believe with confidence that the government is run fairly and lawfully.
