Joe Biden’s current situation is reminiscent of a political circus act, but there’s nothing funny about it for the American populace. Despite his exit from the presidential race this July, Biden continues to claim he is fit for duty while stumbling through public appearances. One would think that if he was, in fact, the “best president ever,” he could at least keep track of who he was supposed to introduce at a press conference. But alas, that wasn’t the case recently, showcasing a startling decline in his cognitive abilities.
In a recent joint press conference, Biden displayed a level of confusion that would make one question who is really running the country. As he stood before a crowd, he suddenly seemed mentally adrift, visibly struggling to recall whom he was supposed to be introducing. The slow-motion chaos that unfolded, with him repeatedly asking “Who’s next?” was not just alarming; it was a disheartening reminder of the leadership vacuum currently festering at the highest levels of government. This is the same leader whom his party touts as a beacon of competence.
The situation is particularly troubling given that the liberal media seems more concerned with crafting upbeat pieces on Kamala Harris than addressing Biden’s alarming decline. During the Trump presidency, even the slightest misstep was met with uproarious calls for his removal. Today, however, a President who exhibits clear cognitive issues escapes similar scrutiny. When Biden flounders through his duties, it seems to be a routine occurrence overlooked by those who should be holding him accountable. It’s as if critical reasoning has taken a backseat in the face of party loyalty.

The only rational explanation for why the First Lady has taken on a more prominent role during cabinet meetings and press interactions is that someone must step in to provide a semblance of effective governance. Biden’s confused moments make it painfully clear that, while he may occupy the office, he does not seem to hold the capacity to govern with clarity. This role reversal leaves Americans wondering if the president’s office is merely a symbolic figurehead while others make the real decisions behind the scenes.
Biden’s handlers deserve their fair share of the blame for allowing this state of affairs to spiral. After all, they sold him as a candidate capable of restoring dignity and stability to the presidency. It’s a sad commentary on the state of American politics when the media remains largely silent on such glaring issues, yet a cacophony erupts at the slightest faux pas from a conservative leader. The continued complacency surrounding Biden’s cognitive decline is unnerving, leaving many to ponder what it would take for the public and the media to demand accountability and respect for the office of the presidency.
