Joe Biden expressing support for Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has caused a major stir in the GOP presidential campaign. Many political analysts view it as a “death blow” to the other candidates’ chances of winning. During the Republican Presidential Primary Debate, Biden took to Twitter to show his agreement with a video clip of DeSantis. In the clip, DeSantis criticizes former President Trump for not being present at the debate and highlights the debt that was added during his administration.
This move by Biden only solidifies the notion that DeSantis is not a threat to the establishment. It is no secret that Biden and DeSantis have appeared supportive of each other in the past, especially during the Surfside Condominium collapse. This support from the current administration does not bode well for DeSantis’s chances in the primary election.
Adding to DeSantis’s troubles, his campaign has been struggling to gain traction and lags significantly behind Trump in polling. The campaign’s chief strategist recently demanded an additional $50 million from donors, signaling a sense of desperation. Moreover, a super PAC set up to support DeSantis had to close down after donors withdrew their support due to various mistakes made by the campaign. It seems that the plan to “stop Trump” is unlikely to succeed, and DeSantis’s chances of becoming the Republican nominee are fading fast.
Meanwhile, Trump’s visit to a parts factory in Michigan to appeal to United Auto Workers Union members on strike has caused panic among Democrats. The move has been described as “kinda genius” by a union adviser. The workers are currently striking against the Big Three for increased wages and job security under Biden’s proposed Electric Vehicles (EVs) agenda. Trump’s strong support for the workers puts him in a positive light and further solidifies his position as a frontrunner in the race.

Trump’s confident assertion that he will not participate in the debates only adds to his appeal among his supporters.
