Joe Biden, the self-proclaimed Catholic-in-chief, seems to have overlooked the significance of Easter, the holiest day on the Christian calendar. It’s as if the Easter Bunny has to play bodyguard to prevent him from wandering off and saying something nonsensical. This year, the White House is hosting an Easter egg design contest for National Guard kids, intended to honor National Guard families. However, there’s a catch – any reference to Easter’s religious roots is a big no-no.
It’s ironic how a holiday central to Christianity is being stripped of its religious symbolism under the Biden administration’s watch. Shouldn’t the government be a champion of religious freedom instead of squashing it like a bug? The contest rules explicitly prohibit any religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or even politically charged statements on the egg designs. It’s like celebrating Christmas without any mention of Santa Claus – an absolute travesty!

Children are instructed to create designs based on their personal experiences, but these designs will be executed by adult artists. So, the White House isn’t even showcasing the kids’ original work – talk about a missed opportunity. It’s clear that the Biden team fumbled the ball on this one, failing to strike a balance between celebrating a religious holiday and respecting individual expression.
Although the White House may claim to avoid endorsing any specific religion, forbidding religious references altogether is a step too far. Their inability to navigate a simple Easter contest underscores their broader incompetence in managing even the most basic tasks. It’s perplexing how they could welcome a topless transgender activist at a pride event but shy away from religious symbolism during Easter – talk about skewed priorities.
In the end, this decision has stirred up backlash from those who value religious freedom and cherish the true meaning of Easter. It’s yet another misstep by the Biden administration, making celebrations more expensive and less authentic. Perhaps next time, they’ll think twice before dampening the festive spirit with their heavy-handed restrictions and tone-deaf decisions.
