'This is playing with fire – it could spark a lab-generated pandemic'
Scientists from Boston University have been criticized for 'playing with fire' when it came to light that they were responsible for creating a potentially fatal new strain of Covid in the laboratory.
According to DailyMail.com, the group created a hybrid virus by merging Omicron and the original Wuhan strain. This virus was responsible for the deaths of 80 percent of the mice in the study.
In spite of concerns that comparable procedures may have contributed to the outbreak of the pandemic, risky viral modification research is still being conducted even in the United States, as was shown by the disclosure.
