In yet another horrifying incident of violence and lawlessness in Los Angeles, an elderly woman was brutally beaten and robbed in broad daylight. The shocking video captured by an MTA bus and released by the LAPD shows the 86-year-old woman lying unconscious on the sidewalk as bystanders look on. It’s truly disturbing to see the lack of empathy and humanity displayed by those around her.

To make matters even worse, a man is seen stepping off the bus and callously stepping over the unconscious woman. Instead of offering assistance, he shamelessly rummages through her purse. This heartless act demonstrates a complete disregard for the well-being and safety of others.

While some witnesses nearby attempted to intervene and stop the man, he dismisses their concerns and flees the scene with the stolen purse. Thankfully, a suspect has been apprehended and charged with felony battery. However, the fact that the thief responsible for the robbery is still at large is deeply troubling.
The victim, who was left in critical condition, was rushed to a local hospital where she eventually regained consciousness. Shockingly, she had no recollection of the brutal attack or the subsequent robbery. It is truly a horrifying and tragic situation that highlights the growing lawlessness and disregard for human life in Los Angeles.
This incident comes just a week after a flash mob of looters targeted a Nordstrom store and attacked security guards with bear spray. The looters made off with an estimated $60,000 to $100,000 worth of merchandise. These brazen acts of theft and violence are becoming all too common in the city.
It is clear that the current leadership in Los Angeles is failing to address the rising crime rates and protect its citizens. The safety and well-being of the people should be the top priority of any responsible government. Unfortunately, it seems that Los Angeles is descending into lawlessness, leaving its residents vulnerable to these heinous acts. It’s time for a change.
