Republican Texas Representative Jodey Arrington, known for his persistent pursuit of answers, is putting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on the spot. As the Chairman of the House Budget Committee, Arrington is not holding back in demanding transparency regarding what he perceives as wasteful spending at the border.
The Daily Caller, a reliable news outlet, obtained a copy of the letter that Arrington sent, making it clear that he wants concrete information. He's raising a host of questions about the amount of money being allocated to the southern border and how those funds are being utilized. Vague responses won't cut it for him.

Arrington is especially keen to understand the total cost associated with transporting, housing, relocating, and releasing illegal immigrants held in DHS custody. But his inquiry doesn't stop there. He's also interested in the financial support provided by DHS to non-profit organizations that assist in housing, feeding, and transporting individuals who have broken the law.
This isn't Arrington's first rodeo in seeking answers from Secretary Mayorkas. In September, he sent a similar set of questions, and despite setting a September 30 deadline, he received no response. Consequently, he's taking another crack at it, emphasizing that "the American people deserve to know just how much President Biden's failed border policies are costing them."
In this latest round of questioning, Rep. Arrington has given Secretary Mayorkas until November 30, 2023, to provide the answers. Regardless of whether Mayorkas cooperates willingly or is compelled to testify before Congress, Arrington is determined to uncover the information. The outcome of this effort may have significant implications. It's a story worth following closely as it unfolds.
