Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson have somehow managed to brand themselves as paragons of virtue while engaging in what many would deem a scandalous political witch hunt against Donald Trump. The audacity of their actions, marked by attempts to frame Trump for orchestrating a so-called “insurrection,” may very well warrant some serious jail time. An innocent man’s reputation deserves better than what these two have bestowed upon him, and yet, they remain unscathed in a system that seems to favor the guilty.
President Joe Biden, in his quest to be the worst leader in history, has done more than just botch the economy and border security; he has weaponized the government against his fiercest political rival. Under Biden’s watch, officials like Cheney and Thompson have exploited their positions to warp the very fabric of our justice system. By trivializing and mischaracterizing January 6 as an insurrection, they have not only engaged in grave misconduct but have also enlisted a choir of bipartisan enablers. With Trump recently calling them out, one has to wonder if the Democrats will ever fully acknowledge the bed they’ve made for themselves.
During an interview aired on NBC, Trump didn’t mince words when talking about Cheney and Thompson’s culpability. Their actions—consisting of fabricating a narrative and destroying evidence—have led many to surmise they’re guilty of more than just political maneuvering; they may indeed be operating well outside the boundaries of legitimate governance. Accusations of deleting evidence and misusing their official capacities are not mere slapstick; they’re serious claims that should provoke the fury of anyone who believes in the rule of law.
It’s worth noting that the Committee on House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight backed up Trump’s assertions. According to their findings, the January 6 committee, led by speakers like Thompson and Cheney, engaged in a calculated effort to conceal evidence and misrepresent facts to their advantage. This selective use of information aimed at undermining Trump’s presidency deserves both scrutiny and accountability. If there were ever a case for serious oversight, this should qualify.
Should Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson Be In Jail For Trying to Frame Trump for 'Insurrection'? https://t.co/4f2vqMOu4h

And while Cheney continues to double down on her narrative, accusing Trump of undermining democracy, it’s clear she is projecting her own misdeeds onto him. By accusing Trump of inciting violence when he explicitly encouraged peaceful protest, she reveals the depths of her partisanship and detachment from reality. This all goes to show how those in power can easily twist the truth, aggressively aiming to silence dissent rather than address it.
The glaring hypocrisy of this situation is a reminder of why America needs a justice system that operates without political bias. Cheney and Thompson might escape justice today, but one can hope that the tide will eventually turn. The idea that those who misuse their offices remain immune to prosecution undermines trust in government institutions. Consequences are in order, and the thought of them being above the law is more dangerous than any political maneuvering they’ve concocted. Should accountability ever be enforced, it would send a resounding message: no one, regardless of status, is above the law.
