In a surprising move, Chris Christie, a former governor of New Jersey, launched a series of attacks against Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis, a Republican candidate from Florida. He has since taken the opportunity to try and distinguish himself from his opponents ahead of the primary debate.
Trump called off a press conference to discuss the political indictments in Georgia. During a CNN interview, Christie said that he was not surprised that Trump decided to cancel the press conference, as he was already facing jail time. The former governor also noted that Trump's decision to cancel the event was the first time in a long time that he had made a smart move.
In addition, Christie called Trump a "certified loser" and a "verifiable coward" after the former refused to participate in the first primary debate. It's clear that he has no problem going after Trump, and he knows how to deliver a powerful punch.
Not content with going after Trump, Christie also targeted the Republican candidate for governor, Ron DeSantis. After a story revealed that DeSantis defended Trump while attacking an entrepreneur, Christie suggested that the candidate drop out of the race and support Trump if he's not serious about defeating the president. The former governor is not afraid to go after his opponents.
It's interesting to note that the campaign of Christie has been mainly focused on attacking Trump instead of explaining why voters should pick him as an alternative. Despite his poor showing in the polls, he managed to pull ahead of Ron DeSantis in New Hampshire, a state that is considered a crucial primary election state.
