In a classic case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, some left-leaning news outlets have managed to bring former President Donald Trump into a shooting incident that occurred in downtown Denver. The incident took place in the building that houses the Colorado Supreme Court, the very same court that ruled two weeks ago that Trump’s name must be removed from the 2024 presidential ballot. The media couldn’t resist the opportunity to suggest a connection between the shooting and the court ruling.

However, the Colorado State Patrol has confirmed that the shooting had nothing to do with the court ruling. The facts speak for themselves. The incident occurred at 1:15 a.m., a time when justices are unlikely to be present. The suspect, Brandon Olsen, had fled the scene of a two-vehicle crash before breaking into the Judicial Center. He then set a fire on the seventh floor, causing significant damage to the building.
ItThis was a random and unrelated incident, but that didn’t stop multiple news outlets from making Trump a significant part of the story. The New York Times mentioned Trump four times in their coverage of the incident, while CNN had three references and CBS News had one. Despite the facts, some people even went so far as to label Republicans as “unhinged terrorists” based on this incident. It’s clear that the media will stop at nothing to try and link Trump to any negative event, even when there is no evidence to support their claims.
