Congressman James Comer, the House Oversight Committee chairman, has recently written a response to counter the Democratic Party's alleged dissemination of false information regarding the ongoing bribery scandal concerning the President of the United States. Rep. Comer disputes the Democrats' claim that the FD-1023 record is based on unreliable "secondhand hearsay." Instead, he asserts that the FD-1023 record was sourced from a trusted confidential informant who had collaborated with the FBI for over ten years. Consequently, Rep. Comer suggests that Democrats are essentially attacking an FBI informant.

Another point raised by Comer is that Democrats incorrectly assert that the FD-1023 record was among the documents provided by Rudy Giuliani in 2020. However, Comer clarifies that the FD-1023 document actually contains information obtained from the FBI's confidential human source dating back to 2017. Furthermore, Comer highlights that Rep. Jamie Raskin, who aimed to discredit the source, is making false statements about both the source's credentials and the information submitted in the FD-1023s.
Comer also addresses the timing of the FD-1023's generation in June 2020, which was based on other FBI records from 2017. He argues that it is implausible for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to have conducted an investigation into the FD-1023 and taken no action within a mere four weeks. Comer believes that the FBI officials' timeline in this matter is unprecedented since investigating the numerous corporations and limited liability companies involved could potentially require months or even years.
Lastly, Comer rebuts Raskin's recent claim that the investigation into the FD-1023 record was closed, a statement also refuted by former Attorney General William Barr. The former AG confirms that the investigation was actively pursued and subsequently passed on to the US Attorney in Delaware.
Comer vows to uncover the truth behind the Biden bribery scandal and expose those individuals involved. However, he expresses concerns that Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray appear disinterested and potentially complicit in covering up their involvement in the scandal. Senator Comer believes that it is crucial for the public to be aware of the truth and that individuals found guilty should be held accountable and face imprisonment.
