Cops Prank With Fake Bodies, Face Real Charges

Chesterfield County, South Carolina – In a shocking turn of events, three deputies from the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Department have found themselves on the wrong side of the law. What could have caused these individuals, who are supposed to uphold the law, to engage in such reckless behavior? Well, it turns out they decided it would be hilarious to make prank phone calls claiming to have discovered dead bodies. Oh, the hilarity!

Sergeant Justin Reichard, Deputy Darien Roseau, and Deputy Killian Loflin now face a laundry list of charges, including misconduct, engaging in a criminal conspiracy, and violating the peace. Can you believe it? These supposed guardians of justice were the ones causing chaos and panic by tricking people into thinking there were dead bodies lying around. This is the kind of behavior we can expect from those who are supposed to serve and protect? It’s truly mind-boggling.

Thankfully, the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) was able to trace the prank phone calls back to these three deputies. The calls were made to police departments and convenience stores in the surrounding areas, causing unnecessary emergency responses and taxpayer dollars. It’s bad enough that we have to deal with actual emergencies, but now we have to worry about the people who are supposed to handle those emergencies creating fake ones for their own amusement?

Sheriff Cambo Streater, to his credit, called in SLED to investigate this outrageous behavior. However, questions still remain about whether these deputies have been suspended from their duties. Come on, Sheriff Streater, let’s not drag our feet on this one. These folks clearly do not deserve to continue wearing the badge if this is the kind of childish behavior they engage in. It’s time to show some leadership and hold them accountable.

For now, the alleged pranksters have been released on no-cash bonds as they await trial. If convicted, they could face up to five years in prison and hefty fines. Let’s hope the punishment fits the crime in this case. Our law enforcement officers should be held to the highest standards, and when they betray that trust, they must face the consequences.

It’s a sad day when those who are supposed to uphold our laws and protect our communities become the very ones causing chaos and endangerment. This incident should serve as a wake-up call for all law enforcement agencies to ensure they have proper protocols in place to prevent such misconduct. Our communities deserve better, and we need to hold those responsible accountable for their actions. Let’s not tolerate this kind of behavior from those who are supposed to be our protectors.
